Il Present Continuous

Usiamo il Present Continuous per azioni che avvengono proprio ora.

Struttura: soggetto + am/is/are + verbo-ing

  • I am reading now. (Sto leggendo ora.)
  • She is sleeping. (Lei sta dormendo.)

Attenzione: alcuni verbi (like, want, know) di solito non si usano in questa forma.

Past Simple dei verbi regolari

Per parlare di azioni finite nel passato usiamo il Past Simple.

Verbi regolari: si aggiunge -ed.

  • work → worked
  • play → played
  • live → lived

Forma negativa e interrogativa con did:

  • I didn't work. (Non ho lavorato.)
  • Did you work? (Hai lavorato?)

Nota: dopo did/didn't il verbo torna alla forma base, senza -ed.

Comparativo degli aggettivi

Per confrontare due cose usiamo il comparativo.

  • Aggettivi corti: + -ertall → taller, big → bigger
  • Aggettivi lunghi: more + aggettivomore interesting
  • Si usa than dopo: He is taller than me.

Forme irregolari da ricordare:

  • good → better
  • bad → worse

going to per il futuro

Usiamo be going to per parlare di piani e intenzioni future.

Struttura: am/is/are + going to + verbo base

  • I am going to study tonight. (Studierò stasera / Ho intenzione di studiare.)
  • They are going to travel. (Viaggeranno.)

Si usa anche per previsioni basate su prove evidenti:

  • Look at the clouds! It*'s going to** rain.*

Some e any

Usiamo some e any con i nomi.
